Explore Tours has more than ten years experience planning tours in the Last Frontier. We provide custom and pre-packaged tours on a year round basis, including cruise packages. We also offer pre and post tours for meeting planners, conventions, and to supplement existing tour operator packages.

Isabelle Bornemann

After spending several summer vacations in Alaska as a teenager, Isabelle fell in love with this special place. She moved to Alaska permanently from Germany in 1994 and now makes her home in Wasilla, a scenic one hour drive from downtown Anchorage. During the summer months, her family enjoys fishing the waters outside of Whittier and Seward. In the winter, cross-country skiing at Hatcher’s Pass is her preferred pastime. Isabelle’s favorite destination in Alaska is Kennicott & McCarthy, in the heart of Wrangell-St. Elias National Park. Swedish and German, Isabelle’s fluent language skills are a big asset when serving our international clients. With the company since 1998, Isabelle is known for her wealth of experience and friendly advice on how to make the most of your time in Alaska.

Crystal and her family drove up the Alcan Highwayin
1985 to make their new home in Alaska. Since her arrival, she has captured photos from some of Alaska's most beautiful places including Kotzebue above the Arctic Circle, Wrangell-St. Elias National Park, and Brooks Falls, home to a large concentration of brown bears.Favorite experiences include rafting the Nenana River, hiking the Valley of 10,000 Smokes, kayaking the glacial waters of Prince William Sound, playing golf in Glacier Bay,and an up-closewhale encounter in Resurrection Bay. Crystal, Director of Explore Tours, has been with our team since 1997. Her enthusiasmwill show through when she shares her personal adventures with you tocreate your ownmemorable visit to Alaska.
Lisa Dunlap

Lisa has been a resident of Alaska since 1970. Over the years her travels have taken her to Brooks Camp in Southwest Alaska, Kennicott/McCarthy in Wrangell-St. Elias National Park, Barrow above the Arctic Circle, and her favorite, the gold rush town of Nome. Be sure and ask her about her close encounter in Barrow! Lisa joined our team in 2001 and is an expert when it comes to travel in and around the Southcentral Alaska. She is a strong advocate of seeing Alaska from a bird’s eye view and can often be found flightseeing around the state. Lisa has also had the opportunity to experience travel on the famous Inside Passage route with the Alaska Marine Highway. Lisa’s extensive knowledge of the “Last Frontier” will help make a reality the dream you always have had of Exploring Alaska.
Claudia Werner

Originally from Germany, Claudia first visited Alaska on a backpacking trip. She immediately knew that she would love to live here in the “Last Frontier” and two years later made her dream come true. Claudia spent her first winter as a dog handler in the Nenana area, then moved to Anchorage to use her business/ travel management degree working in Tourism. She has a passion for Alaska’s wilderness and enjoys hiking, backpacking, mountain biking, rafting, sea-kayaking, canoeing, skiing, winter biking, and dog mushing. To take full advantage of the outdoors, Claudia works remotely from her “off the grid” cabin in Talkeetna, 113 miles north from our Anchorage office. She has been with Explore Tours since 2005 and has an amazing knowledge of Alaska as she is always exploring new areas, so be sure to ask her about her latest adventure!
Donna Langit

Donna Langit came to Alaska as an Air Force Brat in June 1969. She grew up in the sports fishing and guiding business, spending her time between Anchorage and the Kenai Peninsula, a popular playground for Alaskans. Most weekends you can find her fishing and relaxing at her favorite spot: her cabin overlooking the Kenai River. Donna’s involvement in tourism started in 2000 and during that time she has expanded her knowledge from Southcentral Alaska to the Arctic areas of Barrow and Nome. When not at the river, Donna stays busy with craft projects, she’s our resident Martha Stewart! A woman of many talents, Donna learned to speak and understand the Japanese language from her mother. Donna’s love and excitement for all things Alaskan will show through as she helps you plan your Alaska visit.
Christy Belanger

Born and raised in Alaska, Christy has lived in Juneau, Soldotna, Homer, and now calls Anchorage home. Christy is proud of her native heritage; she is half Tlingit (part of the Raven/Coho tribe) and half Aleut. In addition to a degree in Computer Networking and a Travel and Tourism Certification, Christy has over 15 years experience in the Alaska tourism industry. She has managed retail gift shops, worked for the Alaska Marine Highway (ferry) System, and for the last several years she has planned dream vacations for visitors to Alaska. When she’s not working, you can most likely find Christy camping with her son. After spending countless summer’s fishing around Alaska. Always ready at a moment’s notice to go fishing and visit friends in the Kenai Peninsula. We’re proud to have Christy on our team and she looks forward to telling you about all of her favorite places to explore. Anthony Giliam

Born and raised in Anchorage, Anthony has a love of the outdoors and touring this great state. One of his favorite pastimes during the summertime is camping in Hope, across the Turnagain Arm from Anchorage. He also enjoys fishing the river-ways along the Kenai Peninsula and has been north to Fairbanks and as far south as Juneau. Not only has Anthony covered extensive territory himself, but he has grown up in the hospitality industry which gives him an inside perspective on servicing other guests. Working at hotels since he was fifteen years old, Anthony was nominated for a “Stars of the Industry” award at the age of seventeen. He knows what it takes to ensure our guests enjoy their vacations from the minute they arrive to the day they check out!
Laura Savage

Laura joined our Explore Tours team during the summer of 2008. Originally from our Leisure Air division, she brings her flight expertise onboard, further adding to the “one-stop-shop” services offered by Explore Tours. Not only is Laura an official “Alaska Certified Travel Expert” training graduate, but she has also recently completed her Small Ship Specialist course with Cruise West, so be sure to ask her for advice on visiting Alaska by sea. Laura loves not only planning travel for others, but getting out to far off places herself! A favorite excursion took her north above the Arctic Circle, to the remote rural community of Barrow where she participated in an authentic Eskimo blanket toss and joined native dancers onstage. We’re excited to have her outgoing personality on our team and she looks forward to assisting you!
Lauri Ann Bingaman
As a 30-year resident of Alaska, Lauri Ann has lived in the Southeast Alaska community of Sitka and now resides in Anchorage. She comes to us with over 25 years experience in the travel and tourism industry and currently heads up our Group Air Department. In her off time, she enjoys getting outdoors year-round with a love for skiing in winter and biking in summer. On the weekends, Lauri can often be found camping with her family on the Kenai Peninsula or the nearby wilderness surrounding Anchorage -- anywhere within driving distance of the city for a quick getaway. One of her favorite experiences was catching crab off the dock at the Homer Spit and having a fresh cook-out! If you have the pleasure of making your air arrangements with Lauri, you’ll surely enjoy her cheerful personality and helpful attitude!
Regielyn Pugay
Born in the Philippines, Regielyn came to Alaska in 1998 and currently attends school in Anchorage. Fascinated with Alaska’s wildlife, naturally her future plans include studying to become a pediatrician. Perhaps that is why one of her favorite places to visit is Seward, gateway to Kenai Fjords National Park, where she can view the marine life she loves so much! During summers, she also enjoys getting outdoors and hiking our endless trail systems. June is a special favorite with extended daylight opportunities under the Midnight Sun. She admires that just minutes away from her home in the city, one can be surrounded by spectacular wilderness. As Explore Tours’ friendly receptionist, Regielyn is known for her friendly voice and service with a smile!
