Wrangell
Surrounding Wrangell, the protected waters of the Inside Passage are filled with Islands and bays and harbors rich with wildlife providing excellent sea kayaking, fishing, glacier viewing and whale watching tours.
The Stikine-LeConte Wilderness Area, with its beautiful LeConte Glacier calving off tons of bright blue icebergs, is a short boat ride away. Land based wildlife viewing such as birding and bear viewing are also popular.
Wrangell offers over 100 miles of forest roads that allow mountain bikers, hikers, and other explorers access to remote lakes, rivers, and scenic overlooks. Several maintained trails provide immediate immersion into the surrounding lush temperate rainforest.
If your clients prefer a birds eye view of the area, flight seeing is offered to glaciers, fjords, or cabins on remote lakes.
Fishing is spectacular in Wrangell. Halibut and all 5 species of salmon are key targets.
Wrangell also has the only regulation USGA rated golf course in Southeast Alaska. Muskeg Meadows has tournament almost every weekend.
