Bush Travel Facts:
Come prepared with an open mind and a sense of adventure! With your visit to these unique, native village communities, you’ll be touring by 15-passenger van, airport shuttle or school bus for the day. Your driver-guide will give you an up-close and personal look at the culture of the North with a friendly, casual take, much more rustic and real than the ordinary sightseeing experience you might be accustomed to. Encounter unpaved streets which may mean dust when dry or mud when rainy. There is no place like the rural communities of Barrow and Nome, so relax and understand that you’ll be getting a glimpse of lifestyle as it exists in “bush” Alaska. Also note: Barrow is denoted as a “damp” town and in respect of the locals, please do not bring alcohol.
