Glacier Turn w/Portage Cruise
The Seward Highway is a "National Scenic Highway", and for good reason! Travel a route along spectacular Turnagain Arm where the best scenery in Alaska resides. You can pack a good variety of things into one day with this tour, and not even get up early!
Itinerary/Details
Start the day off around noon with a pick up at your hotel and head to lunch at the top of Mt. Alyeska, so don't eat a late breakfast! From the viewing decks and Roundhouse Museum at Mt. Alyeska, you can see several glaciers as well as the Turnagain Arm and the territory previously covered.
After lunch with a view, descend the tram and continue on to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, a rescue and rehab organization for injured and orphaned animals. There you'll visit with orphaned grizzly bears, injured eagles, families of elk, bison, and many more Alaskan wild animals.
Then you're off to get up close and personal with Portage Glacier on the 1-hour cruise at Portage Lake. An on-board expert will share facts and stories about global warming, the local flora and fauna, and Alaskan glaciers. You'll really learn some things while watching this amazing glacier!
