Anchorage Day Tour

This popular tour travels by motor coach along the scenic Seward Highway to Portage Glacier. Watch for wildlife as you skirt the shores of Turnagain Arm. Stop at the Begich Boggs Visitor Center to see the glaciology exhibits, then board the M/V Ptarmigan for an unforgettable 1-hour cruise across iceberg-spotted Portage Lake to within 300 yards (275 meters) of Portage Glacier. Stroll on the observation deck or take a seat in the enclosed lounge and listen to the narration provided by a representative of the U.S. Forest Service. On the way back to Anchorage, stop at the Alyeska Ski Resort for lunch on your own and an optional tram ride up Mt. Alyeska.
