Did you know... the WORLD'S largest concentration of bald eagles is found along the Chilkat River, just north of Haines?
Located at the northern end of the Inside Passage and America’s longest fjord, Haines is surrounded by spectacular scenery.
Considered the gateway to the Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve, Haines is home to over 200 eagles throughout the year, with thousands of eagles congregating in the area between October and January.
Haines also serves as a base camp for Glacier Bay National Park and Canada’s Kluane National Park. With breathtaking peaks, glaciers, lakes and rivers and an abundance of marine life, birds, and wildlife, a visit to Haines is a memorable one.
