King Salmon is located 284 miles southwest of Anchorage on the banks of the Naknek River. It's the gateway for tours to Katmai National Park and Preserve, which includes the McNeil River State Game Sanctuary, Brooks Lodge, and the Valley of Ten Thousand Smokes. King Salmon also serves as the shipping center for Bristol Bay salmon, the largest red salmon fishery in the world!Katmai National Park & Preserve hosts an incredible density with approx 2,000 active grizzlies in this region.
