7 Days · Departs Anchorage

Travel to remote settings with panoramic mountain views and wilderness as far as the eye can see.  Explore nature trails up to the face of glaciers, discover lush rainforest and view the Alaska Range from a spectacular vantage point via riverboat. Includes several adventures off-the-beaten-path, allowing you an up close and personal view of nature at its finest! 

Day 1 · Anchorage
Arrive into Anchorage,where you’ll be met by an Explore Tours representative who will welcome your group to Alaska’s largest city.  Once you’re settled in at your hotel, enjoy an evening walk on your own through downtown. Dazzling displays of flowers adorn storefronts, wild salmon sculptures appear along city blocks and kings and silvers are caught right downtown in Ship Creek.

Day 2 · Anchorage/Knik
Enjoy an exclusive sightseeing tour of Anchorage this morning. Your knowledgeable guide will highlight areas such as Earthquake Park where ground upheavals have been left from the famous '64 Alaska earthquake and Lake Hood, the world’s largest float plane base. Continue north to your lodging, surrounded by Alaskan wilderness and a National Landmark view of the glacial river. 

Day 3 · Knik River Valley
Indulge, with a deluxe breakfast served at your door-step before your exciting trip by airboat up the Knik River. Watch out for wildlife sightings as you pass the occasional stray iceberg, waterfalls and spectacular scenery. The Knik Glacier is awe inspiring as it pours from the Chugach mountains greatest peaks. This 25 mile river of ice is over 5 miles wide and hundreds of feet thick. Next pull ashore for a visit to Glacier Camp where you'll get a front row seat to one of natures most powerful shows.

Day 4 · Knik/Talkeetna
Board a comfortable, high-speed jet boat for an unforgettable adventure along the Susitna River. Once ashore your naturalist guide will take you on a leisurely ¼ mile nature walk to visit an authentic trapper’s cabin. Here they will display raw furs and acquaint you with the wildflowers and edible plants used by Natives for cooking and medicines.  Stay in Talkeetna this evening.

Day 5 · Talkeetna/Girdwood
The morning is yours to explore this area on foot, or opt to take a flightseeing trip around McKinley for an aerial view of rugged mountain peaks and glacier filled valleys.  Travel south along a 'National Scenic Byway,' covered on both sides by steep, majestic mountains and hanging alpine glaciers. Overnight in Girdwood at your chateau-style property overlooking the north face of Mt. Alyeska.

Day 6 · Girdwood/Seward
Enjoy an abundance of options at the Alyeska Resort this morning before traveling further south today to Seward. You may opt for an exciting afternoon cruise into Resurrection Bay. Overnight accommodations are in Seward this evening, located on the outskirts of town, near Exit Glacier.

Day 7 · Turnagain Arm/Anchorage
A hike below Exit Glacier highlights your visit to this famous National Park. Travel along the Resurrection River as your guide explains the topography and natural habitat surrounding this glacial environment. Continue on to the Begich Boggs Visitor Center where you’ll look for glacial icebergs floating in the nearby lake for great photo opportunities. Visit the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, surrounded by the mountains of Portage Valley as you walk through and learn about local wildlife such as moose, grizzly bear, musk ox and a variety of game birds.  Your trip ends with a transfer to the Anchorage Airport this evening.
