About Your Stay

Guest accommodations consist of sixteen modern rooms all with showers, private toilet facilities, heat and electricity. Rooms accommodate two to four persons. The beautiful main lodge building boasts a spectacular view of aquamarine Naknek Lake. Its large circular fireplace is popular for evening relaxing and reminiscing about the day's adventures. Hearty Alaskan fare is served three times a day buffet style in the dining area of the lodge. Cocktails are available for purchase at the lodge bar each afternoon and evening. Comfortable accommodations in the heart of the magnificent Katmai wilderness make this a truly perfect vacation spot.

Katmai National Park is located on the northeast coast of the Alaska Peninsula. It boasts the largest population of protected brown bears in the world. During the July salmon runs, Katmai's Brooks River is the focus of bears feeding in the park, providing visitors with unparalleled views of Alaskan brown bears.

Katmai's physical beauty is impressive as well. Volcanic activity is just one attraction of the park. In 1916, a National Geographic Society botanist was the first non-Native to cross Katmai Pass, and see below him an expansive valley from which thousands of steam vents were coming through the valley floor. The name, Valley of Ten Thousand Smokes, has remained ever since, although these particular steam vents have cooled. Beautiful fjords, glaciers, waterfalls, and mountains round out the scenic wonders of the park.
