Views of Mt. McKinley
Mt. McKinley, North America's highest peak, dominates the skyline and stands tall at 20,320 feet above sea level.
Five large glaciers flow off its slopes: Peters, Muldrow, Traleika, Ruth & Kahiltna.
Also known as Denali, meaning "The Great One" or "The High One", it sits on a base of just 2,000 feet giving it a vertical rise of approx 18,000 ft -- about 6,000 ft more than Mt. Everest!
Insider Tip: You don't have to be inside Denali National Park to see Mt. McKinley. There are many locations outside of the Park where you have unbelievable views from the south. You can even catch a glimpse from Anchorage on a clear day.
