Location
Located on a privately owned parcel of land on Fox Island, Kenai Fjords Wilderness Lodge is nestled in the woods between the oceanside pebble beach and a quiet island fresh water lagoon.
Lodge Facilities
The Fox Island Day Lodge, gift shop, and restrooms are located near the dock, allowing all guests easy access. At the Day Lodge guests will dine on the all-you-can-eat prime rib and wild Alaska salmon meal. A National Park Ranger presents a narrative talk about Resurrection Bay and Kenai Fjords National Park during the meal.
Stroll down the beach and listen to the click-clack of the rocks beneath your feet as you make your way along the pebbled beach to your private cabin. Here you'll find eight comfortable waterfront cabins and the Kenai Fjords Wilderness Lodge, which is only available for our overnight guests. Clean and spacious, each cabin and the lodge is equipped essential amenities to make your remote lodging experience comfortable.
Exclusive Access
Unlike many remote wilderness lodges in Alaska that can only be accessed by plane, the Kenai Fjords Wilderness Lodge is easily reached via a 45-minute day cruise from the port of Seward. The cruise is provided by Kenai Fjords Tours, departing daily at 12:00 noon.
After you have enjoyed a hearty breakfast the next morning, you will depart Fox Island at 9:45 a.m. aboard our premium Northwestern Fjord Tour, which stops at Fox Island to pick you up.
The Experience
The staff at Kenai Fjords Wilderness Lodge strive to make your time at Fox Island as relaxing or adventurous as you desire. We invite you to explore the many wonders of Fox Island, whether it be on an interpretive walk with the Lodge's naturalist, beach combing, berry picking (in season), campfires, reading a book while listing to the water lapping upon the rocks, taking a guided sea kayaking tour or trail hiking. We hope you will embrace the untouched beauty and appreciate the quiet comfort of our seaside wilderness location.
Guest Cabins
The Lodge consists of 8 guest cabins situated on the narrow peninsula of land just south of the Day Lodge. Four of these cabins are connected in one building, two facing the fresh water lagoon and two facing Resurrection Bay. The other four cabins were built as duplexes, with water views.
Cabin Amenities:
- One queen and one twin bed
- Bed linens and towels are provided
- Private bath with shower
- One table and two chairs
- Propane heating
- Electric lights (wind and solar powered)
- Battery powered alarm clock
All cabins are designated as smoke free areas.
