Day 1 • Anchorage/Knik River
You will be met at the airport in Anchorage by a representative from Explore Tours who will provide you with your travel documents and answer any questions you may have. Pick up your rental car and drive just north of Anchorage to the Knik River Lodge for your overnight.
Day 2 • Knik River
Today take a closer look at the Knik Glacier, source of the Knik River, on your guided day tour. Overnight at Knik River Lodge.
Day 3 • Knik River/Denali
Journey along the Glenn and Parks Highway to Denali National Park. Visit the Denali Park Visitor Center for information, maps and brochures about the Park and its surroundings. Overnight at the Denali Park entrance.
Day 4 • Denali
This morning depart on a fully narrated bus tour through Denali National Park to Kantishna. Enjoy breathtaking scenery and, in clear weather, view Mt. McKinley. Search for moose, bear, wolves, caribou, Dall sheep, and more. A box lunch and beverage is included. Overnight near the Park entrance.
Day 5 • Denali/Fairbanks
Spend some time sightseeing in Denali before you head to Fairbanks. In Fairbanks, explore downtown or enjoy an optional visit to the University of Alaska Museum of the North. The Museum features Alaska Native cultural, historical and contemporary art. See Blue Babe, the world’s only restored Ice Age bison mummy, fist-sized gold nuggets, Alaskan dinosaur artifacts, and much more. Overnight in Fairbanks.
Day 6 • Fairbanks/Talkeetna
Enjoy a leisurely morning drive south to Talkeetna. The afternoon is yours to experience a variety of optional activities from Mt. McKinley flightseeing to jetboat safari or river rafting tours. Overnight in Talkeetna.
Day 7 • Talkeetna/Anchorage
Return to Anchorage this morning and enjoy the afternoon at your leisure. Take a stroll along the scenic Tony Knowles’ Coastal Trail, just steps from your overnight accommodations.
Day 8 • Anchorage
Today is free for optional activities. Suggested tours include an Anchorage city tour, flightseeing, fishing, the Alaska Native Heritage Center, and the Anchorage Museum of History & Art. Overnight in Anchorage.
Day 9 • Anchorage
Rental car return and Anchorage departure. End of tour.
