Itinerary
Day 1 • Juneau Arrival
Arrive in Juneau today, Alaska's Capital City. Pick up your rental vehicle and make your way to your comfortable accommodations for the evening.

Day 2 Mendenhall Glacier Helicopter
Flightseeing and Dog Sledding Fly over the city of Juneau on your way to the massive Juneau Icefield to view four unique glaciers in different stages: advancing, retreating, cascading and a one-of-a-kind floating glacier on your way to an exclusive glacier dog sled camp. This tour is highlighted with 20-25 minute ride across the snow-capped glacier on a dog sled with a professional dog musher. Visit the Mendenhall Glacier and US Forest Service Visitor Center for a closer look at how the Glacier has carved the valley and for some more walking around the glacier.

Day 3 Tracy Arm Cruise
Journey through one of the most dramatic sites in the world - Tracy Arm Fjord. This narrow fjord twists and turns for over 30 miles, culminating in a spectacular view of the twin tidewater Sawyer Glaciers. Learn about the natural history of the fjord, watch its glaciers and wildlife on this spectacular 8-hour cruise.

Day 4 Glacier Bay National Park
Today travel to Gustavus, the gateway to Glacier Bay National Park. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy as you please. Go for a nature walk, kayaking, fishing, golfing, participate in a National Park Service program, or perhaps visit a local art gallery. Overnight in Gustavus.

Day 5 Glacier Bay/Juneau

Depart in the morning from Glacier Bay Lodge on the high-speed catamaran, Baranof Wind. As you make your way up the Bay you’ll enjoy fascinating narration about local wildlife and history. A National Park Service naturalist will share interesting facts about the animals and their environments. The glaciers and wildlife are absolutely amazing. The experience, extraordinary. Return to Juneau this evening by air.

Day 6 Optional Day
As you may have guessed, Juneau has an Alaska-sized activity list! Today is your day to choose from one or more of the following activities to help make the most of your Alaska experience:

Fishing
Try to catch one of the five species of salmon that come through the Juneau area on your fishing charter. Local guides will take you where the fish are and outfit you with the equipment you need to reel in the big one!

Glacier View Sea Kayaking
You will be outfitted with life jackets and raingear before beginning your kayaking adventure. View places such as Smugglers Cove and the Mendenhall Wetlands where you may have the opportunity to view Mendenhall Glacier from an ocean explorer’s point of view. You may see porpoise, seals, sea lions, eagles, or even whales.

Historic Gold Mining & Panning Adventure

Relive Juneau's gold rush history and pan for gold in the authentic setting of Gold Creek. Learn the fascinating history of Juneau’s gold discovery from a local prospector. Then get hands-on experience panning for gold at the famous site of the original gold strike in 1880, one of the world’s largest hard rock mining operations. Best of all, you get to keep the gold you find!

Mendenhall Glacier Float Trip
This is an exciting yet gentle introduction to white water rafting, fun for beginning and experienced rafters of all ages. As you glide past Mendenhall Glacier on this iceberg-studded lake, you will be treated to spectacular views of hanging glaciers, peaks towering 7000 feet above the river and glacial topography.

Gold Creek Salmon Bake
An Alaskan feast for all of your senses! Enjoy Wild Alaskan Salmon, Ribs, Chicken, and more on this all-you-can-eat buffet. Roast marshmallows over a campfire, take a short walk to beautiful Salmon Falls and explore the remnants of the Wagner Mine.

Day 7 Juneau - Home
Spend the morning getting acquainted with Juneau’s heritage. Take the Mount Roberts Tramway for some last minute photo opportunities of the spectacular views from atop Mount Roberts. View the award-winning film “Seeing Daylight,” featuring the culture of Tlingit people and observe Native artisans working their crafts. Or simply walk the scenic trails and stretch your legs before your flight home. Visit the Alaska State Museum for a greater introduction to all of Alaska’s unique cultures and the Juneau/Douglas City Museum for more history on Alaska’s second largest city. Your Alaska adventure comes to an end this evening as you begin your journey home.
