Itinerary/Details
Day 1 Anchorage
A Milepost Guidebook will be waiting for you at your first hotel. Pick up your rental car (not included) and overnight in Anchorage
Day 2 Anchorage/Talkeetna
This morning, drive north to the township of Talkeetna. Enjoy local optional activities such as river jet boat tours, Mt. McKinley flightseeing, and fishing. Overnight in Talkeetna.
Day 3 Talkeetna / Denali National Park
Continue north to the Denali National Park entrance. Enjoy the visitor's center, take an optional rafting tour, or stretch your legs on area hiking trails. Overnight near the Denali National Park entrance.
Day 4 Denali
Begin your day exploring Denali National Park on the Eielson shuttle bus excursion where you may see bear, moose, caribou, Dall sheep, and a variety of other wildlife. Spend another evening at the Denali National Park entrance.
Day 5 Denali/Fairbanks
Leave Denali for an enjoyable drive to Fairbanks for your overnight.
Day 6 Fairbanks
Learn more about Alaska's "Golden Heart City" on a Fairbanks Highlights Tour. Overnight in Fairbanks.
Day 7 Fairbanks/Chitina
Continue your journey from Fairbanks to Chitina, the gateway to the Wrangell Mountains in the heart of the Copper River Basin. Overnight in Chitina.
Day 8 Chitina/Kennicott
Park your car at the Chitina airstrip and take a scenic flight to the wonderful historic town of Kennicott. Overnight in Kennicott.
Day 9 Kennicott
Enjoy a free day exploring the towns of Kennicott and McCarthy. You may also wish to participate in an optional day tour. Overnight in Kennicott.
Day 10 Kennicott/Valdez
Depart in the afternoon on a scenic flight back to Chitina. Pick up your car and continue the drive to Valdez, traveling through Thompson Pass in sight of Worthington Glacier and Bridal Veil Falls. Overnight in Valdez.
Day 11 Valdez/Seward
Cruise the Alaska Marine Highway through Prince William Sound to the coastal town of Whittier. Drive through the Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel and continue south to the port town of Seward for your overnight.
Day 12 Seward
Take a day cruise through Kenai Fjords National Park. Keep your eyes open for whales, otters, puffins and more! Overnight in Seward.
Day 13 Seward/Homer
Depart Seward and travel to the "end of the road" and stay at the Land's End Resort, situated at the very tip of the Homer Spit - overlooking Kachemak Bay. Overnight in Homer.
Day 14 Homer
Enjoy a free day exploring Homer on your own. Choose from an exciting optional bearviewing excursion or guided Halibut fishing charter. Overnight in Homer.
Day 15 Homer / Anchorage
Depart Homer and travel back through the Kenai Peninsula to Anchorage. Look for Beluga whales in Cook Inlet, Dall sheep along the rocky ledges of Turnagain Arm, and migrating birds in Potter Marsh. Overnight in Anchorage
Day 16 Anchorage
Return your rental car in Anchorage. End of tour.
