Itinerary/Details
Day 1 Anchorage/Whittier/Cordova
Travel along the Seward Highway on the famous stretch of “Turnagain Arm”, recently named a National Scenic Byway. Arrive into Whittier via the Anton Anderson Tunnel, the longest combined rail and highway tunnel in North America. On the other side, catch a ferry across the sound to Cordova for your overnight at Orca Adventure Lodge. Note: car rental and vehicle space are not included in package price.
Day 2 Cordova
Be sure to bring your camera for this outing! Embark on a panoramic journey of the Orca Inlet on a guided sightseeing vessel. Highlight includes an unparalleled visit to an area inhabited by the world’s highest concentration of Sea Otters. Every trip is unique depending on wildlife activity.
Day 3 Cordova
Enjoy a drive across the Copper River Delta, on a road that was once the path of the Copper River Railway, to the spectacular Childs Glacier. The glacier provides some of the most active glacier calving in Alaska as the voluminous Copper River cuts away at the base of the glacier. Top it off with an awe inspiring view of the amazing Historic Million Dollar Bridge.
Day 4 Cordova
The day is yours to explore on your own. You may enjoy a multitude of optional activities such as hiking, wildlife photography, world-famous sport fishing, bear viewing, flight seeing, and more!
Day 5 Cordova/Whittier/Anchorage
Transfer back to Whittier by ferry and enjoy your return drive to Anchorage. Rather fly? Options for airfare are available roundtrip between Anchorage and Cordova.
