St. Paul & Pribiloff Islands

St. Paul Island is part of the Pribilof archipelago, one of the most remote island groups in the world, located off the West coast of Alaska in the Bering Sea.

From breathtaking heights atop the cliffs way above the ocean waves, see a diverse array of birds soaring in the updrafts and nesting among the jagged cliffs. Colorful puffins, Red-legged Kittiwakes and Red-faced Cormorants are a few of the many species seen on the islands. Step back in time with a visit to the Russian Orthodox Church, a structure that still stands as a reminder of past influences and which binds the community together today.

Itinerary/Details

Day 1 Anchorage/St. Paul Island

Depending upon the plane's arrival time, you may have a brief introductory tour to orient you with the town before dinner. After your meal, visit Reef Point to look for fur seals and seabirds (short, easy walk).

Day 2 St. Paul Island

After breakfast, visit Antone Lake, Ridge Wall Seabird Cliffs and Zapadni Fur Seal Rookery (short, easy walks). Lunch is included this afternoon before you continue on your sightseeing excursions. Visit Lake Hill and take a 4-mile walk on a jeep trail to Southwest Point or Kittiwake Lake. Enjoy dinner. You might be entertained later by a local children’s native dance performance at the Recreation Center. Tour Saints Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church this evening.

Day 3 St. Paul Island/Anchorage

Enjoy breakfast, then continue your explorations, returning to your favorite sightseeing spots; often Reef Point or Ridge Wall. Check out from your hotel mid-day and head for the airport for your afternoon departure flight, bound for Anchorage.
