3 Day Wildlife Tour

Kodiak is home to the largest land carnivore in the world - the Brown Bear. As the second largest island in the United States, Kodiak is rich in natural beauty, wildlife and Alutiiq native heritage. Over 200 species of birds, Sitka Blacktail Deer, mountain goats, sea lions, sea otters, whales and of course the bears call this island home. You can also visit archaeological dig sites where remains of Alutiiq and Russian settlements are being excavated, or tour the Baranov Museum and Russian Orthodox Church to get your fill of over 7,000 years worth of history and culture.

Itinerary

Day 1 • Anchorage / Kodiak
Depart Anchorage on a flight to Kodiak Island. Upon arrival pick up your rental car (2-day compact car not included in package rate) and begin exploring the "Emerald Isle." Overnight in Kodiak.

Day 2 Kodiak

Enjoy a 4-hour tour by floatplane into Kodiak Island National Wildlife Refuge or to Katmai National Park, depending on the location of the bears. If conditions permit, you will land in a remote area of the refuge to view bears. Next choose an optional tour or spend the rest of the day at your leisure. Overnight in Kodiak.

Day 3 Kodiak / Anchorage
Return your rental car and enjoy a flight back to Anchorage. End of tour.

Package Includes:
Roundtrip airfare between Anchorage and Kodiak, 2 nights accommodations in Kodiak, and bear viewing tour.
