Finding the Best Pizza in Alaska

Our talented team of Explorers are more than just Alaska Travel Specialists – they are also Alaska Pizza-Tasting Specialists! We’ve invested many hours searching for the best slices across the Last Frontier, and here are just a few of our favorites.

Anchorage: Moose’s Tooth Pub & Pizzeria

Listed as one of the “Top 10 Pizza Places in America,” Moose’s Tooth is home to inventive pizzas and house brewed beer. This bustling, colorful hangout is very popular for locals and tourists alike, and they do not accept reservations.

Explorer Picks

Amir – Amazing Apricot

Heidi – Spicy Thai Chicken

Hadley – Chicken Parmesan Pizza

Girdwood: Chair 5 Restaurant & Bar

Chair Five Restaurant began as the result of a rainy night and plenty of Scotch in 1982. Even with their modern success as a local “dive bar,” they haven’t forgotten their history – like how during their first year of operation, getting groceries meant travelling to Anchorage and hitchhiking* back to Girdwood. They do have a few house rules to ensure everyone is happy; our favorite is #6: “Although we do charge for food and drink, advice is free!”

Carly – Nachos (Okay, we know this isn’t pizza, but we’ll let her have it.)

Nestled at the foot of the towering peaks of the Alaska Range in the little town of Talkeetna, Mountain High Pizza Pie’s menu serves as a collaboration of countless family recipes. With fifteen years of experience under their belt, they are definitely a local favorite!
