Favorite Alaska Adventure of All Time
A day trip out of Seward: we took a small boat to cruise out to Aialik Bay to see Holgate Glacier. On the way, we saw a humpback whale breech twice right in front of the boat. After viewing the glacier we docked the boat, walked out on the beach, saw a black bear, swam in a freezing cold glacier lagoon and kayaked Quicksand Cove. It was a perfect 85° day in July and we ended up jumping off the boat into Aialik Bay for a cool swim.
Don't Leave Adventuring Without It
I have learned over time to never leave without my polarized sunglasses!
Most Recent Alaska Adventure
One reason I love living in Alaska year round is the different activities available with the change of seasons. I recently went on a weekend trip to Lake Eklutna to stay at the public use cabins – an Alaska experience for sure! We skied out when it was dark, using only the light of the moon and the stars were so unbelievably bright. We enjoyed the weekend in the cabin with a warm fire and games, stepping outside every half hour to check for the northern lights and enjoy the stars. Can’t wait for next winter!
Current Aspirational Alaska Adventure Trip
I dream to someday bike the 92 miles of the Denali Park road all the way from Kantishna with my tent and camping gear. I’d like to spend a week hiking, biking and wandering myself back to the park entrance.
